White Tailed Eagle Photography Workshops in Scotland

Photographing Eagles is a truly unforgettable experience. To offer UK-based photographers the chance to get close to these awesome predators we have teamed up with a small boat charter operating from Ulva Ferry, Mull. This workshop is designed especially for photographers to maximise the chances to get truly stunning images:

  • Our exclusive photography trips are for up to four photographers only

  • The tour is booked to start to maximise light in the ‘golden hour’

  • The boat is privately booked to provide photographers with plenty of operating space and to ensure you receive advice and guidance at the critical moment!

  • The White Tailed Eagles come to fish between 5 and 8 metres from our boat.

Lenses; telephoto, upwards of 200mm to 400mm. Please contact us as we can tell you the exact set up needed for your camera/lens.

Tripod or monopod as preferred - we are shooting from a boat so it is often easiest to hand hold.

Spare batteries (charged), memory cards (minimum 2GB). CF (CompactFlash) cards if you want to use ebirder equipment.

Warm waterproof clothing, one more layer than you think you need!

The following items are not included in the cost of the workshop: travel insurance, travel costs to and from the rendezvous, drinks and food (unless specified in the tour details) and items of a purely personal nature.

This is a trip of about 3 hours and the success rate is about 75% - these are wild birds after all! The boat is fully licensed, insured and is designed to carry twelve passengers (though we will be running this workshop for just four guests). The boat is three metres wide and there is adequate space for everyone to operate and get great shots. The vessel is fully coded. If you have always wanted to photograph wild Eagles then this is the trip for you!
