Birds: Photography, Workshops and Tours

This is the website for award-winning bird and wildlife photographer Marcus Conway. Here you will find details of our bird photography workshops as well as acclaimed and favourite pictures in the galleries. From our base in the Scottish Highlands we focus on the needs of photographers and enthusiasts wanting to photograph the very special species of the Far North in our workshops, courses, holidays and tours.

"Just the kick start I needed to get me going with bird photography and taking better pictures in general. Great teaching style. Very patient, friendly and knowledgeable."

"Snake in the Grass" WINS Reptile Section of the 2009 Wildlife Extra and Paramo competition;

What the judges said:

"It's Marcus again; he bothered to get down and dirty to get this snake. It is beautifully captured in its proper environment and makes me want to warn him not to step on it. Too often these shots are supposedly wild but taken in tanks or drums. That sort of misleading nonsense has no place in a competition like this. Nice work Marcus .... again."

Puffin 'Point of View' finishes RUNNER UP out of 27000 entries in;

What the judges said:

"Marcus set off to the Farnes with the intention of
getting a photo like this, but that doesn't detract from the fact that he achieved it. He's put a lot of thought into getting a picture that grabs attention and conveys the Puffins' diet and habitat even though it's closely cropped to show less than 20% of the bird. Several visitors commented that this is great photographic art, and I agree. It would look good blown up large on the wall of any seabird visitor centre

Find out more about our bird photography workshops and tours in the Scottish Higlands. We run puffin photography workshops and other key species so you can make sure you add that new shot to your portfolio. Bird of prey photography workshops are focussed predominantly on wild birds such as owls and harriers in areas where they are still going form strength to strength.
