Very friendly East Yorks based birder who runs excellent courses and top tuition - a must visit!

Great shots form the North York Moors area - that gallery is a must. Don't miss the Dotterel either.

Dave Mansell
Dave has helped me with a few sites up in the Scarborough area and is often first on the scene with his snapper when there is a rare near Filey. Great site and great photos.

A Yorkshire based photographer, often with great pics of birds near Scarborough. First caught the eye with special Grouse shots. Certainly worth a view!

Birding lunacy from a fellow tyke. Top Shearwater spotter and ornithology postgrad keeps a very amusing blog - well worth a shufty.

Another East Yorks birder who keeps an entertaining blog, populated with sharp snaps. Often picks up the goodies at Spurn too!

Fabulous images. Simon focuses on his local habitats and this knowledge shines through in his excellent and thoughtful shots.

Steve Race
Another of the excellent Scarborough based snappers. The gannets plunge diving are absolutely stunning.

UK favourites (alphabetical)

Jim probably has taken the best picture of a hobby I have ever seen; the light, the colour, the pose, grrrr so jealous. I keep going back to it. The rest of his blog is also full of great pics and entertaining accounts

Richard Bedford
One of my favourite UK based bird photographers. A great site constantly updated with tips and other advice. Or just stop and admire the stunning pictures!

John has been producing stunning images for ages and has now put them onto a new website. The Peregrine's in particular are superb - you can see them here.

Photobank of bird & wildlife stock photos, available to send as free e-cards or to purchase as high resolution images.

Can be a bit blue, but very funny all the same. Keep it up lads.

Nick can take great shots of all types of wildlife. His macro work is of the highest quality especially his dragonflies and butterflies.

Really special owl pictures. You see one, the jaws drops, and then the next is even better.

One of the most inspiring UK based photographers. Some of his recent Goa work is phenomenal.

I love many of Rene's beautiful images. In particular look out for the Gallery from the frozen North. The Golden Eagle in the snow is fantastic.

This project was the result of two keen birdwatchers getting together and wanting to share their hobby with those that have difficulty getting out and about.

Dean Eades
Dean is responsible for some of my favourite images. He first captured the imagination with his stunning Little Stint eating a Cranefly. Always a pleasure to stroll through his galleries.

Superb collection of UK and foreign birds sure to brighten up any day. The Pine Grosbeak image is one of my favourites as the snowy background compliments the bright pink tones of the bird.

Be sure to visit Pauline's site to see her cracking shots. I always think there is that little bit left to the imagination with these creative masterpieces.

I stumbled across Chris's site and was blown away by the massive portfolio of outstanding bird and wildlife images. Hawfinches, Water Voles, Peregrines - lots of great images everywhere you look.

In a short time Amanda has burst on to the bird photography scene with a variety of interesting images demonstrating a range of skills and an eye for a great capture.

Some great shots on Paul's site. The 'upside down treecreeper' is my own favourite.

Lincoln based snapper with some cracking shots. Love his spotted flycatchers and his gannet flight shots. Now with a new 300mm lens the results are even better!

One of the best young photographers in the UK. Steve demonstrates a wide range of skills and aptitude for all types of photography. One to watch!

Check out the treecreeper taking flight - a unique shot from this top photographer.

Top Lancastrian shooters who keep a fantastic array of bird galleries. Favourites must include the Firecrest (wow!) and the Ross's Gull. Great site, be sure to check it out.

Keen North West photographer, Alan presents classic and creative images from across the UK. Also, a big lover of the Highlands and why not!

Top bloke and top birder Craig keeps an entertaining blog with some fantastic shots. Digiscoping at its best.

Richard seems to be able to get images sharper than his peers. The set from Scilly 2008 demonstrated this in full effect especially his pipits. Plenty more on this well produced site.

Tom's Red Flanked Bluetail shots were rather special. I visited his site and was impressed with the images he has taken.

Lewis Thompson
Lewis captured the imagination with stunning images. I often feel like part of the flock inside his atmospheric captures. Check out the Hawfinches.

Chris fully exploits opportunities presented to him to get some cracking captures. The Buzzard fight sequence at Gigrin really caught the eye, and just goes to show the Kites aren't the only thing to focus on.
