Waxwing: Messy Eater

 

 

Every winter birdwatchers wait for the arrival of these Siberian gems. They can often turn up in the most unexpected places such as supermarkets and trade parks. They prefer to eat berries, but here a waxwing is taking advantage of some glucose rich pollen buds.
